Connected to the VALIDATION GATEWAY SERVER from SAPPER, everything related to creating and changing names and addresses is automatically matched in your SAP system in the background. The result is available in milliseconds.
You determine how the system should react in case of hits,
- prevent the storage of the transaction immediately, or
- allow storage and block it at the same time.
The system behaviour you desire can be defined differently, separately for company codes and / or document types, at the click of a mouse.
The users of your SAP system do not need to be trained – they work as usual in SAP and are only “disturbed” in case of a hit. Statistically, however, this only happens in one out of about 10,000 cases.
But there is more to a “closed compliance chain” than just SAP. Think of all the business transactions that do not end up in the SAP system at all or much too late. If you like: we will be happy to help you identify any gaps and show you the possible solutions.

For your SAP system, you can get a fully integrated solution “out of the box” with SAP OnBoard, implemented without modifications. All functions are located in their own namespace. The delivered solution is executable without further customising. Matching is done via SAPPER’s VALIDATION GATEWAY SERVER, in your network or as a cloud solution via SAPPER’s data centre located in Germany.
You can choose between an RFC connection or the WebService REST for the following test methods:
- Automatic dialogue checks for master data from the SAP transactions (DEB/KRED/central business partners/personnel master/banks).
- RealTime checks for transaction data from the SAP transactions of the modules (MM/SD/FI).
A manually started test run for all inventory data (master and transaction data) is carried out as part of the go-live.
This is followed by renewed test runs of all master and transaction data against the DELTA of an updated sanctions list (DELTA batch procedure).
The delivery includes online help in German and English.

A solution with SAPPER will help you to do this: you can use all database-driven ERP systems for automatic auditing in the background, no matter which ERP system and which database it is. This can also apply to upstream and downstream systems. It is best to start with the checking of prospective clients, e.g. in your CRM system.

The matching of the data given for verification is generally done via the VALIDATION GATEWAY SERVER licensed by SAPPER. This applies to solutions within your network, but also within the framework of a cloud solution.
Via an ODBC interface you can connect several ERP systems within a few hours, regardless of the database behind them. The check then takes place automatically every 3 seconds. This does not require any programming in your ERP systems.
In case of a hit, you can also set a lock for the data record via a trigger.
If you do not want to check one or the other ERP system with ODBC but with a web service, then use the web API provided by SAPPER.

On your way to the goal of realising a “closed compliance chain”, you will probably also come across data sources that are outside your network.
For such cases SAPPER offers the audit variant “ATM”. Audit-relevant data is then sent directly to the VALIDATION GATEWAY SERVER in text format or via Excel tables and checked there. The delta batch procedure is also available for data outside your network; all data transmitted in this way are automatically rechecked against the changes on the sanctions list whenever it has been updated.
This means you are also on the safe side for all check-relevant data outside your network; once checked, always checked.

The ATM (Active Text Match) method is suitable for data relevant to examinations that are outside your network: You extract the data in a rhythm defined by you and store it in a predefined directory of the VALIDATION GATEWAY SERVER. From there, they are automatically fetched and matched. For a corresponding cloud solution, an SFTP server in SAPPER’s data centre is used. In both cases, the delta batch process can be used for repeated checks.
You can also use ATM for data that is located in your network but whose checking is not time-critical.
You can choose between .TXT, .CSV and .XLS as the file format.

Matching your data via a web service is probably the most technologically elegant solution. However, this requires not inconsiderable resources of your IT or their service providers because programming has to be done in the ERP system.
However, the check results delivered with the web service are identical to all other check methods provided by SAPPER. For you as the person responsible for compliance, the chosen technology is therefore of no great significance. The main advantage of the web service, however, is that the results of any hits can be passed on directly to the user if this is desired and expedient. In most cases, IT resources are scarce in the company and also highly popular with other departments. The chosen testing approach via a web service usually means a longer lead time until going live.

If you want to design the sanctions list check in real time via a web service, then we provide you with an API with which you can choose between the xml and Json protocols. For this purpose, you will receive a test access as long as you have not yet licensed your own VALIDATION GATEWAY SERVER.
You decide for your project at which points in the ERP system you want to trigger a test and how complex your application should become. In any case, we are interested in how comprehensive and secure the test results will be, at the latest before going live. We therefore recommend that you consult our team of experts as early as the project planning stage. This consultation is provided at a separate charge.
